'Gambus' player dies at 64

KUALA LUMPUR: Well-known gambus player Fadzil Ahmad (picture) died at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital yesterday. The 64-year-old veteran musician, dubbed "Raja Gambus Malaysia", was admitted after a bout of diarrhoea and vomiting.Mohd Firdaus, 20, the youngest son, said his father had suffered food poisoning after eating some satay an hour earlier."My father was in critical condition when we took him to the hospital," said Firdaus.Fadzil leaves behind his wife Zaliah Mohd, 55, five sons and three grandchildren.
